Scraphappykats August sketch challenge

August Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone.......
As promised, here is the August Sketch Challenge.
This month is using the 'film strip' technique. As you can see on the sketch, there is a strip that looks like the 'old style' photo negatives. (remember these? My You can use this any way you like - I have seen it with different photo's on it and it looks FANTASTIC!
Please email a photo of your completed sketch to scraphappykat@yahoo.com.au
by 31 August to be in the running for a great prize.

Overseas entries are welcome.

Please email me if you have any questions regarding the sketch.

Here is my LO for Scraphappykat's June paper pack competition, this photo is very special to me as it shows my dear Aunt & Uncle. Aunt has since passed away.
I was lucky enough to be an equal winner, many thanks to Kathie and her DT team.

My spin on Lexie's class from Scraphappykats
I really enjoyed this sketch challenge, it brought back memories of our most amazing trip- We were in Cairo sitting in the shade of the Great Pyramids when this young woman waved madly at us.  You would not believe it - it was a girl from Euroa, she had been living in London and had taken a short break in Egypt with her fiance Kelvin,  before returning home to Australia.

Well under way

The house renovation has moved along very quickly - walls have been taken out, moved and put back in...Sparky comes Thursday the 10th - been quite a buisness to get one I can tell you. Plumber is sorted, the polished boards and carpet quotes are in, another builder comes on Sat to give his quote. Hopefully it will be at lock up stage within 6 weeks.
Checking out kitchens on ebay .. just missed a ripper for $1.00 now isn't that ridiculous included sink, dishwasher, cooker and cook top etc all in a beautiful Tasmanian oak. Buggar!!
Check out the photo's below to see our progress.

day 2,3 and 4

DayTwo

Tuesday 25th - Can you believe the difference already, we have just spent the day lifting carpet.

Wednesday 26th-The re- stumping has begun, pest inspection completed.Cleaning up the yard and taking out the kitchen.

Thursday 27th - The plumber's quote should be in, and building inspection all done. Just waiting now for the builder to come Monday evening to give his quote, and the sparky who should come tomorrow. Mmm you know how hard it is to lock them in. ahh well I think we are going well. Tidy up a bit more yard then leave the stumpers to do their thing...

Project

It has been really busy over the past few weeks, helping Gordy with the outside chores, (he has a knee injury) working and looking at houses with my daughter Vicki. We have just purchased this lovely old home to renovate- so here are a couple of photo's ....

It is going to take a lot of work to bring it back to life so I will update the photo's as we work through.

Day 1. We pulled up the old lino in the kitchen (well the hovel that was the kitchen), then the dining room and the lounge. Vicki took to the old bathroom and cleaned the loo yuck disgusting!!! . Well done Vic x

That's about all for now -
Thanks for popping in

Modern Technology don't ya just love it!!!

Hello there,
I am finally back online after my hard drive caved in for no apparent reason... the new system is up and running , it's taking a bit of getting used to but I am slowly navigating my way around. LOL
Haven't done any scrapping for ages, finished the ATC for scraphappykat and that's about it, trying to get the sketch challenge on the go but nothing seems to be working. Ahhhh!!!!!
Will just have to sit back and recharge the batteries I think.
Have a good day

Easter break

Hello there,
Gordon & I have had a wonderful day today, firstly we went over to Mansfield to the market day (which was great with loads of stalls and great bargains), then to Jamieson for a quiet lunch. Somwhat embarrising - they didn't take plastic so had to dig up the coin in the end to pay for it. LOL - we were actually a bit short so the owner gave us a discount. How nice are country people. We are indeed blessed to live in such a great place....
No scrapping, mauybe tomorrow however the garden needs the once over and there is another market on at Eildon...Mmmm maybe the market might be the go ...
Stay safe on the roads
Cheers
Heather

Entry to the sketch challenge

Here is Linda's entry for the sketch challenge from scraphappy Kat, pop over to her site to grab the details.
Unfortunately the photo doesn't do this LO justice. The butterflies are layered and are edged with kindy glitz they really stand out beautifully.
Well done Linda, she is a real 'Cutie' for sure. I will have to get the mojo going and complete my entry..

Margaret River - WA

Hi there,
We are home from our week in beautiful WA, unfortunately Gordons' knee was really sore and we spent several days just lazing around Adinfern vinyard in the Margaret River region. If you are thinking of going over to the Margaret River area we can highly recommend Adinfern cottages.
Of course we had planned a very busy time and I didn't take any scrapping tools or a project to work on... so you guessed I went out and bought some.... we found thescrappycow.com in Margaret River. What a lovely place, the owner Kareena is a real sweetie, nothing was too much trouble and even loaned me a cutter for a couple of days while we were in the area. Now how's that for down right friendliness. There is such wonderful fellowship with scrappers...
The pages above are what I completed while we were there. I haven't found the right photo's yet, so no titles etc.
Many thanks to Kareena and her off sider (sorry I cant remember her name) for all your help. The people we met in WA were very friendly and helpful especially with Gordon on crutches.

Here is my winning entry for the sketch challenge.
I saw this dear little echidna cross the lawn, heading for the garden, by the time I grabbed my camera I couldn't find him. Then suddenly the cat jumped up onto the side of the fish pond and was watching something very closely. The echidna had climbed into an ice-cream container full of water (left there for the dog) to cool off. I just had to scrap this photo.
Happy scrapping people.
Thanks for popping in.

February 2010

It has taken forever to get back here, I never seem to get the time these days but I am going to try to make an entry every week from today!! Well try anyway.
Loads have been happening, Christmas came and went, Kara returned from her Qld holiday with Richard, Vicki came home exhausted from Europe, closely followed by RJ then David. It has been lovely to have them all together even if it is only for a short time. Thomas our grandson spent some days with us, swimming, making cubbies, watching DVD's and cooking - aren't little people wonderful.
David will return to Scotland next week, I am not looking forward to saying goodbye again, so I don't think I will go to the airport - hate airports saying goodbye is just awful... Of course there is a possibility that we might go to Scotland later in the year - so I will hold on to that thought.
On a brighter note I have finnished some OTP projects, the hanger was something I saw in a scrapping mag - sorry I dont know which one right now but I will add it later. The album was made up from left over papers from a class I did with Kathie from Scraphappykat.
So that's about it for now, will load my entry for the sketch comp and the LO from Scraphappykat.blog later in the week.

Thanks for stopping bye Heather
